Careful removing the tape. The home button has a zif connector and if you aren’t careful the tape can rip the zif flap right off. You might have to hold it down while you pull it off or pull the tape from a different direction to make sure you dont tear the zif tab off.
I am replacing the screen for the 2nd time - the first repair was done by someone else, and the first 2 screws are 1.5mm and the last screw is 1.1mm… If I put the screw back in am I risking Long Screw Damage?
So I’m pretty sure I know the answer to this - but can I test out the screen replacement without hooking up the camera, home button, etc? Can I just attach the three cables to the phone to make sure the screen works, or would it brick the phone?
In case anyone is wondering, you can find k5-pro on Amazon if you need to replace the thick gunk on the other 2 big chips (IO controller and thunderbolt I think). Didn't realize until I was putting the plates back on that there is quite a gap between the chip and the heat sink. Took me days of asking on forums to find out about the K5 stuff. :D
