See last two comments. I had two cameras with different issues so I thought I would swap the lens across. The one with the broken lens is also offline now. So still no solution.
Also the Arlo online support has not been responding even when I’m logged in. So not sure what the warranty is worth.
I also have a camera that shows offline after the battery died. I can’t get it to reconnect even with other batteries. It won’t charge a battery and there is no LED activity either.
I also need a lens. I have one camera that broke a lens when it fell.
Care is required from Step 5. Do not slide the spludger down the back of the faceplate. This may (it did) damage the ribbon to the power and eject button on the front plate. OOPS.
STUCK DRIVE = Need go no further than Step 4. (Photos available)
After removing the top vent you will be able to see a hole in the mesh towards the front.
Beneath the mesh is the side of the DVD case with another hole lining up with hole in mesh. (May have yellow circle around it).
This will need a long thin probe (Nothing I have in my kit) like a perfectly straightened paper clip.
Push the probe through the hole which disengages the lifter inside the DVD player and allows the draw to open.
No need to go past step 4 unless the DVD needs to be opened to remove stuck objects.
I managed to strip down following this guide. Unfortunately I was unsuccessful. So a word of warning to hopefuls. First of all 3 hours is a fair time. Take your time on heating the screen. I managed to shatter it as I hadn't heated enough of it. (In the end I used a Hair dryer on high which made it soo easy the shattered screen just peeled out). I did this strip down to replace the lightning port and missed the important point that it's cable is micro-soldered to the main board. After shattering the screen I've put it away for spare parts.
Followed this to replace a broken LCD. Turned out I needed the front screen with digitizer. Word of warning: I might have been a bit rough removing the screen first time and damaged the digitizer.
I have reused the digitizer after replacing the LCD. I don't have any response from about a quarter of the screen each side (left and right). I did try covering the copper but didn't make much difference.
Any ideas??
