Background
The iMac G4 was released in 2002. It encompasses a flat panel monitor, an adjustable arm, and a dome-like base. The iMac G4 was nicknamed the "iLamp" because it resembled the pixar lamp.
Compared to the iMac G3, the iMac G4 had better screen quality. In addition, the iMac G4 utilized space better than the iMac G3.
The iMac G4 is no longer in production; however, people still use the iMac G4 because of its many benefits such as a flexible, adjustable arm.
Identification
To identify your iMac G4 17 800, click the Apple Menu symbol in the corner of the screen and select "About This Mac" for the model name and serial number. Alternatively, find the serial number on the bottom of the base near the regulatory markings and enter it on the Apple Support Coverage page.
